The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) encourages, recognizes and rewards a higher level of medical knowledge about individual species. AVFP focuses on the non-biomedical skills and knowledge, emphasizing communication and community involvement. The AVFP complements the technical focus of ABVP.
