The Academy has been busy in the last couple of months. We started the rather large task of defining the skills that we think are critical for the Family Practice Credential Course. At this point, we think this will involve the following steps (although it can and probably will change):
- examining the Credential Course that we took,
- brainstorming additional topics that we believe need to be covered,
- organizing the old and new topics into a usable format, commissioning additional material for the course, and
- creating new online and in-person formats.
All of us are new to this process, so we are learning as we go. We have evaluated the Credential Course and brainstormed new ideas between our last two monthly meetings. At last month’s meeting, we began to organize those topics. This is a long process, but I find it really exciting. These steps may very well re-define our profession. I am glad to be a part of it. Please let us know if there are any subjects that you find are critical to Veterinary Family Practice.
